In 1972, Juanita Navarro Morales Aguilar combined the flavors of juicy jalapenos, plump South Texas tomatoes, the right amount of spices and seasoning to create a smoky southwest salsa that has been a mainstay at her popular East Texas restaurant, Casa Morales. For generations, patrons have visited her notable establishment and always carry home a jar of this magnificent salsa.

In 2014, her son Tamale Joe took the family recipe and refined it with the goal of manufacturing this gem of a salsa on a larger scale. In a few short months, Tamale Joe would find himself at the prestigious Fiery Food International Expo where this salsa would place third in the world as a medium heat goodness of fire! Quickly this salsa became a number one Deep East Texas salsa brand attracting statewide attention as a premier salsa that stands out amongst the rest.
